Car tax seems to be one of the most common vagaries of 2008. To help demystify the new annual headache that is Vehicle Excise Duty, we have included a simple table below which helps assist you in working out your tax bill when renewing it in 2008-9.
Please note however, if your car was registered before March 2001 these VED stats do not apply.
To discover the amount of CO2 emissions emitted from your own vehicle firstly visit www.smmt.co.uk and click on ‘data services’, then ‘CO2’, and then ‘Search’.
It is very easy, so give it a go and avoid any nasty tax surprises in the coming months!
This table only affects cars registered after March 2001:
VED Band | CO2 Emissions (g/km) | Tax Rate for 2008-2009 |
